If not healed properly, the disease may spread to joints, heart, and even the nervous system (3). Though the disease can be treated with antibiotics, there are many side effects of consuming these medicines.
What should be done, then? Well, there are several effective home remedies that can work wonders for this disease. You can try them on your own without any hassle and get rid of the Lyme easily.

Turmeric is one of the oldest known ingredients used for countless maladies of the body. It is a powerful antioxidant that keeps several infections at bay by eliminating toxins (6, 7). Lyme is a bacterial disease and can be treated with antibacterial components.
For treating Lyme disease, you can include turmeric in your diet and use it in different dishes, curry, etc.

3. Vitamin D

This compound has been found to inhibit the growth of several bacteria in a trial. Since Lyme is a bacterial disease, it can be treated effectively with this herb.
6. Cat’s Claw
This herb is also known as Uncaria tomentose and can be used for curing the disease. The inner bark of this herb is used to prepare capsules, extract, etc. (17). Cat’s claw has been proven effective against the pathogen that causes this disease (18).
Studies have shown that the combination of the herbs at 1:300 dilutions is the most effective for the treatment (20). It must be applied topically over the affected area.
Astragalus is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been used for the treatment of various pathogen-based diseases, including Lyme. It basically strengthens the immune system and is a wonderful antibacterial agent too (21).

Diet for Lyme Disease
