Note – Application of calamine lotion may increase itchiness in some people. So, consult your doctor before using this remedy.

2. Baking Soda

Baking soda is one of the most popular remedies for chickenpox. It gives relief from the itchiness caused due to this ailment. Make a mixture by adding a half teaspoon of baking soda in about one glass of water. Apply it with the help of sponge and let it dry. Apply this solution regularly till the problem goes away.

3. Honey

Honey is a superb chickenpox treatment. It cures irritation and even helps remove the scars that chickenpox leaves. Apply honey on the body 3-4 times a day for about half an hour. This remedy provides instant relief to the patients and rejuvenates the skin.

4. Oatmeal

In order to soothe the skin and lessen the pain, one can take an oatmeal bath. Grind 2 cups of oatmeal and mix it in a bathtub filled with lukewarm water. Bathing this way helps cure chickenpox quickly and gives relief from itchiness.

5. Soup of  Carrot and Coriander

6. Brown Vinegar

One of the most effective cures for chickenpox is brown sugar. You can add about one cup of brown vinegar to one bucket of warm water. Bathing with this water will make your chickenpox irritation vanish in some days.

7. Coconut Water

Coconut water is well-known for its soothing and cooling properties. Dip cotton balls in coconut water and apply them on the marks of chickenpox.  It will give cool and relax feeling, as well as remove the marks also.

8. Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E oil, when rubbed on the skin, will help recover the after effects of the chickenpox fast. All you need to do is puncture some vitamin E capsules and apply the oil so obtained, on the scars.

9. Epsom Salt

It is a mineral which is made of sulfate and magnesium. It relaxes the body and relieves the pain associated with chickenpox. To use it, you have to dissolve about 2 cups of Epsom salt in approx 3 gallons of water. Apply the mixture with the help of a cloth or cotton on the affected areas. For the best results, use this remedy daily.

10. Green Peas

Apart from being a tasty vegetable, green peas are also helpful in curing chickenpox fast, because of their medicinal properties. Take about 200 grams of green peas and boil them in an adequate amount of water. Grind the boiled peas till a paste-like consistency is formed. Looking for herbal treatment for chicken pox? Jasmine bath can be of great relief. Grind some jasmine flower and mix with rice water. Put the prepared mixture in a bathtub full of warm water. Soak your body in this water for some time and pat dry gently. Repeat the process for a few days until you get recovered.

14. Marigold Flower

This flower has got antibiotic properties which help fight off the chickenpox causing bacteria and speed up the process of healing. Make a paste of marigold flower, hazel leaves and water. Apply it on the skin and let it dry. Then, wash it off. Repeat the process for the best result.

15. Margosa

Margosa, also known as Indian lilac, is one of the best herbal remedies for the treatment of chickenpox because of its antibiotic, antifungal, antioxidant, and antiviral properties. It can be used in two ways – either the leaves can be directly hanged around the bed of the patient, or a paste can be made by crushing the margosa leaves with water. Apply the paste on the skin.

Note – It should be taken care that margosa paste shouldn’t be applied directly to the skin of the children.

Basil is well-known for its medicinal value, anesthetic, and antibacterial properties. Take some basil leaves and boil them in some water. After the water cools, strain it. Apply this basil water on the affected area using a cloth or cotton ball.

18. Essential Oil Bath

Essential oils soothe and calm the irritated skin. Take equal quantities of thieves, melaleuca and lavender oil. Soak the Epsom salt in the oils for about 30-45 minutes. After that, mix Epsom salt in the bathing water and bathe with it on the regular basis, to feel the change.

Drink herbal tea to fortify your immune system and recover fast. Boil some herbs (like basil, chamomile, and lemon balm) in water. Strain it. Drink it several times a day.
