1. Banana Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Ripe bananas (as per the length of your hair)
  • Honey – 1-2 tbsp

How to Make?

  • Take ripe bananas and mash them.
  • Add honey to it. Mix properly, and it’s ready to be applied in your hair.

2. Castor Oil Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Castor oil
  • Almond oil
  • Olive oil

How to Make?

  • Castor oil is considered to be very beneficial for hair. So apply it plain if you like.
  • Or else, you can choose to add a few drops of olive and almond oil in castor oil for maximum output.

Note: It is said that castor oil can make your eyebrows/eyelashes thicker than ever before. So, people who are troubled with lean brows can also try this.

3. Coconut Oil Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Curry leaves – 20
  • Alkanna tinctoria (an herb) – 1 stick
  • Coconut oil – ¼ cup

How to Make?

  • Soak alkanna tinctoria in coconut oil; and curry leaves in water for one whole night.
  • Squash curry leaves with oil. And it’s ready to use. Let it sit for 2-3 hours.
  • Thereafter, shampoo your hair. This also prevents graying of hair, apart from hair loss.

4. Olive Oil Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Coconut oil – 2 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 1tbsp
  • Lemon – 2 tbsp
  • Honey – a few drops

How to Make?

  • Combine coconut oil and olive oil.
  • Then add lemon juice and honey to the oil mixture.
  • Mix well; and apply it gently on the scalp and strands. Allow it to stand for 2 hours. Thereafter, shampoo your hair.

5. Egg Mask

Things Needed

  • Eggs – 2
  • Olive oil
  • Shower cap

How to make?

  • Whip the eggs.
  • Add olive oil and mix well.
  • Apply it on the scalp. Leave it for 30 minutes. Use a shower cap to check dripping. Wash off with cold water.

6. Green Tea Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Egg – 1
  • Green tea (prepared afresh)
  • Shower cap

How to Make?

  • Combine egg white and green tea.
  • Mix till you get a consistent cream like texture. But, it should not be very thick.
  • Apply this hair mask for 1 hour. Use shower cap if required. Then, rinse your hair with shampoo.

7. Oatmeal Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Oatmeal
  • Almond oil
  • Fresh milk

How to Make?

  • Form a paste by combining oatmeal, almond oil, and milk.
  • Apply it on your scalp and hair. Let it be there for 30 minutes. Rinse your hair with warm water to get rid of stickiness.

8. Hibiscus Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Hibiscus petals
  • Raw milk
  • Olive oil

How to Make?

  • Steep petals of hibiscus in water, one night before you want to apply.
  • Next day pour raw milk and olive oil in it.
  • Apply and leave it for 45 minutes. Rinse hair with lukewarm water.

9. Rosemary Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Rosemary leaves
  • Water

How to Make?

  • Soak dried and crushed rosemary leaves in water.
  • Massage your scalp with it.

10. Avocado Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Avocado
  • Coconut oil (lukewarm)
  • Cold water

How to Make?

  • Mash an avocado.
  • Then get some lukewarm coconut oil to give a prior massage to the scalp.
  • Next apply mashed avocado in hair. Leave it for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse with cold water at the end.

11. Almond Oil Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Almond oil

How to Make?

  • Give a nice massage to your scalp with almond oil.
  • Let it sit for an hour. Then wash it off with shampoo and cold water.

12. Nettle Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Nettle leaves – an ounce
  • Water – 2 cups
  • White vinegar – 2 cups
  • Lavender essential oil

How to Make?

  • Put nettle leaves, water, and white vinegar in a vessel.
  • Simmer all these ingredients together in a pot.
  • Strain after it comes to room temperature.
  • Then, pour 2-3 drops of lavender oil.
  • Store it if you end up making extra. Shake well before each use.
  • Apply it at night and rinse off the next morning.

13. Onion Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Onion – 1
  • Honey – 1 to 2 tsp

How to Make?

  • Extract the juice of onion in a juicer.
  • In this juice, mix honey.
  • Apply this mixture all over your scalp and hair. Leave it for a night.
  • Don’t use any cover or shower cap. But, you can cover your pillow with plastic.
  • Shampoo your hair the next morning to get rid of the pungent smell.
  • Add 1-2 drops of your favorite essential oil to the mixture to eliminate smell fast.

14. Lemon Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Lemon – 1 tbsp
  • Coconut oil – 2 tbsp

How to Make?

  • Mix lemon juice with coconut oil.
  • Massage it on your scalp.
  • Let it sit for at least 4 hours. If you are not in a hurry to wash it out, then you can leave it overnight.
  • Rinse off with cool water.

Note – Do not heat up coconut oil in the microwave as it kills all the nutrients. Prefer stove or an essential oil burner.

15. Garlic Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Garlic juice –1 tbsp
  • Chamomile tea bag
  • Aloe vera – 1 tbsp
  • Honey – 1 tbsp
  • Water – 3 cups
  • Yolk of 1 egg

How to Make?

  • Get the juice of garlic by crushing and pressing it.
  • Add honey to the garlic juice, and then place it in the fridge.
  • Soak tea bag in water for about 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. Leave it to cool down.
  • Take juice and honey mixture. Mix egg yolk and aloe in it.
  • Massage your scalp and the ends of your hair with this mask. Let it sit for 20 minutes.
  •  Wash it out using a gentle shampoo. Thereafter, give a second rinse to your strands with chamomile and leave it in.

16. Essential Oil Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Bottle – 1
  • Vitamin E oil – ¼ cup
  • Jojoba oil – ¼ cup
  • Peppermint essential oil – 15 drops
  • Rosemary essential oil – 15 drops

How to Make?

  • In a bottle, combine vitamin E and jojoba oil.
  • Then add peppermint and rosemary essential oil.
  • Close this bottle tightly and shake it.
  • Use it for massaging your scalp. Next morning, rinse your hair with cool water and shampoo.

Note – If you are unable to find vitamin E oil, then get vitamin E capsules and simply press them to extract the oil.

17. Herbal Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Thyme oil – 2 drops
  • Rosemary oil – 3 drops
  • Cedar oil – 2 drops
  • Grape seed oil – an ounce
  • Jojoba oil – 1 tbsp
  • A bottle or bowl

How to Make?

  • Combine thyme, rosemary, cedar, grape seed, and jojoba oil in a bottle or bowl.
  • Simply massage this mixture into your scalp every night before you sleep.
  • Rinse it off with cool water and shampoo the next morning.
  • Store the extra mixture in bottle/bowl for future use.

18. Caffeine Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Caffeine powder – 4 tsp
  • Shampoo – 8 ounces
  • Water – 8 ounces

How to Make?

  • Mix caffeine powder and water in a spray bottle. Spritz it on your hair 10-15 minutes before you go for a bath.
  • Or else, combine caffeine powder with shampoo. Rinse your hair with the help of this shampoo.

19. Mayo Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Mayo
  • Warm water
  • Shower cap

How to Make?

  • This mask is supposed to be used on damp hair. So, first get your hair damp.
  • Rub mayo onto your scalp and also on the ends of hair.
  • Put on a shower cap to trap the heat. In this way, your hair will absorb mayo properly. Let it set for 20-30 minutes
  • Rinse off with a mild or diluted shampoo.

20. Henna Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Henna powder
  • Egg
  • Water
  • Lemon juice
  • Bowl

How to make?

  • Combine henna and egg in a big bowl of water. Stir properly to form a paste; then let it stand for an hour.
  • Add lemon juice to it and whisk until the mixture is consistently smooth.
  • Apply this paste on your scalp and hair.
  • Leave it to be absorbed by the hair for about two hours, or wait till it dries.
  • Use plain water to rinse it off. Then, shampoo your hair.

21. Aloe Vera Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Spray bottle
  • Water
  • Aloe vera
  • Essential oil (any of your favorite)

How to Make?

  • Get a bowl and mix water and aloe vera gel in equal parts. Stir using a spoon.
  • Shift this in a spray bottle and shake well.
  • Pour 10 drops of any of your favorite essential oil. Shake once more.
  • It’s ready. You can use it whenever required.

22. Coconut Milk Hair Mask

Things Needed

  • Coconut milk – ¾ cup
  • Rosemary leaves – 2 tsp
  • Pan – 1 medium-sized
  • Vitamin E oil – 1 tsp
  • Comb – 1
  • Shower cap – 1

How to Make?

  • Put coconut milk and rosemary leaves in the pan. Let it simmer for 30 minutes, after covering with a lid. Stir in between to prevent burning.
  • Strain the mixture.
  • Mix vitamin E oil in it.
  • After the application of this mask, you need to comb your hair.
  • Cover your head with a shower cap. It’s your choice to leave it for 1 hour or 1 night as per your convenience.
  • Use warm water to rinse it off. Using shampoo is optional.
  • If, by chance, you make this mask in abundance, place it in the refrigerator and use within ten days.
