1. Leg Elevation and Cold Compress

One of the easiest and helpful remedies is leg elevation exercise. All you have to do is to stretch and elevate your legs in front of yourself. While elevating the leg, tie an ice pack on the feet with the help of a clean towel. Repeat the process to get relief from swelling.

2. Vinegar

Vinegar helps relieve the feet pain, caused by swelling. Take vinegar and water in equal parts and boil them. Soak a towel in the solution, and wrap around the feet for about 5 minutes. Repeat the process 4-5 times a day.

  • Alternatively, Apple cider vinegar can also be used for this purpose.

3. Cucumber

Cucumber has the property of absorbing the fluids, which eventually decreases the healing time. Cut a thin slice of cucumber and tie it on the feet with the help of a bandage.

4. Lecithin Seeds

If you’re experiencing feet and ankle swelling for a very long period, then taking lecithin seeds can help you a lot. Take about 4 tablespoons of lecithin seeds for 2-3 months regularly.

5. Feet Soak

This is one of the oldest and most effective remedies to reduce swelling. Soak your feet in chilled water for about fifteen minutes. Along with swelling, it will also relieve the pain.

  • Or else, you can soak the feet in cold and warm water alternately, for a two-minute interval.

6. Mustard Oil

A daily massage with mustard oil can help relieve the pain and swelling of the feet. You can also heat it up a little to get quick relief.

7. Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is well-known for reducing swelling. Fill a tub or bucket with warm water and add half a cup of Epsom salt to it. Dip your feet in it, and you will feel the miraculous change.

8. Rotate the Ankle

In order to induce more blood flow, it is recommended that you rotate the ankle 10 times every half an hour in clockwise and anticlockwise directions, alternatively. It will eventually reduce the pressure and pain of the ankle.

9. Magnesium Sulfate

Magnesium sulfate considerably reduces the recovery time for your feet. Add a pinch of magnesium sulfate powder in a bowl of cold water. Soak a towel in the water and dab it on your feet. Keep repeating the process for about 20 minutes, daily.

10. Drink Water

Water is one solution to every problem. Consumption of about 8-10 glasses water a day can help remove the toxic waste and salts from your body.

11. Molasses and Fennel Drink

Molasses and fennel’s combination is another good remedy to diminish the swelling. Take about half tablespoon of molasses and one tablespoon of fennel seeds. Add them to 2 glass of water and boil it. When the quantity reduces to half, let it cool and then drink it. Drink the prepared solution about 2-3 times a day for a quick respite.

12. Cabbage Leaves

Cabbage leaves can absorb the excess fluids from your body. Cover the swollen feet with cabbage leaves and wrap it with a bandage.

Lemon is one of the best remedies to treat edema. It helps absorb the fluids from the feet. Extract the juice of one lemon and mix it in a glass of warm water. Drink the prepared mix, daily.

16. Garlic

Consume 2-3 cloves of raw garlic every day to reduce the swelling. It absorbs the fluids from the tissues, thereby alleviating the tenderness.

17. Coriander Seeds

Coriander seeds are an excellent anti-inflammatory agent. Mix about three teaspoons of coriander seeds in a cup of water and boil it until the water reduces to half. After it cools down, drink it. Repeat the process twice a day.

20. Dandelion Root Tea

25. Sandalwood Oil

Massage with sandalwood oil to relieve the swelling from the feet. You can also soak your feet in lukewarm water containing sandalwood oil for 15-20 minutes to have a comforting effect.

26. Olive Oil, Cinnamon and Milk Mix

Application of a paste made out of these ingredients decreases the inflammation and swelling on your feet. Mix a teaspoon of milk and olive oil. Add a pinch of cinnamon powder to it. Apply it and let it rest for some time. Use this remedy on daily basis.

27. Lavender Bath

Add a few drops of lavender oil in a bucket of lukewarm water. Soak in it for half an hour daily. It will provide relief to your feet.

28. Peppermint Oil

To a cup of boiling water, add a few drops of peppermint oil. With a cotton cloth, apply the solution on the affected area 2-3 times a day.

  • Alternatively, directly apply the oil and massage it for 20-30 minutes every day.

  • Take proper rest and sleep for at least 8 hours.
