1. Honey

  • Alternatively, you can also mix one tsp of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it daily.
  • To get relief from inflammation, apply raw honey over the affected area and wash it off after 15 minutes. Repeat twice a day.

2. Salt Water Gargle

If you are suffering from swollen lymph node in neck or throat then use salt water for relief. Add one tsp of salt to a glass of lukewarm water and gargle. Repeat this twice or thrice a day. This will ease out the swelling and reduce the pain in the infected nodes.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar

22. Basil leaves And Cinnamon

  • If the fresh herb is not available then, you can use the tincture to make this tea. Simply pour 20 drops of cleavers tincture in the above recipe.

25. Mullein

This is another herbal remedy for swollen lymph nodes. It reduces swelling and lymphatic congestion caused due to various reasons. To prepare its tea, add some of the mullein leaves in a glass of boiled water and let it steep for some time. Strain the decoction and sip it slowly. You can have up to 3 cups of this tea daily.

26. Mint

Mint contains menthol which provides a cooling sensation. For swollen lymph nodes, you can prepare an herbal infusion by adding 1 to 2 tsp of dried leaf powder to a glass of hot water. Let it steep and drink afterwards.

  • Alternatively, you can extract its juice from fresh leaves. Have two cups of it twice a day
  • You can also apply peppermint oil on the affected area 2 or 3 times a day to reduce swelling.

27. Plantain and Raspberry

Another effective way to get relief from swollen lymph node is to prepare a mixture by adding 1 tsp each of finely chopped raspberries and plantain leaves to a cup of boiled water. Let it steep for some time and strain it later. Drink this tea two times a day.

28. Calendula

Prepare an herbal solution by using calendula, cleavers and mullein. The anti-inflammatory properties of these herbs help treat the swollen lymph node. Add 2 parts each of calendula, and cleavers and 1 part of mullein in a glass of water. Boil this solution on a medium flame for about 30 minutes and cover it with a lid. Once done, strain the mixture and let it cool down. Drink three cups of this tea daily for 2-3 weeks for positive results.

29. Spirulina

Spirulina is a rich source of vitamin B, protein, antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, copper and minerals. The high nutritional component of this herb makes it an effective remedy for swollen lymph nodes. It also wards off harmful bacteria and viruses. You can sprinkle it in your morning smoothie to avail its health benefits.

30. Chamomile Tea

The flower of this herb is used to treat swollen lymph node. All you need to do is drink two cups of tea. Just steep a few chamomile flowers in warm water for sometime (5- 7 minutes). Strain and have it. You can add honey if required.

  • Alternatively, use chamomile tea bags if the fresh flowers are not available.

31. Lavender and Tea Tree Essential Oil

Both these essential oils are packed with antispasmodic, antibacterial, antimicrobial and antiseptic properties that help cure swollen lymph nodes. Take a small bowl filled with warm water and add 3-4 drops of both the oils. Inhale the steam with a break of 4-5 seconds in between. Cover your head and bowl with a towel during this process. Do this daily at least once for 15-20 minutes to improve the condition.

32. Licorice Tea

The anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties of this herb subsides the symptoms associated with swollen lymph nodes. To prepare a tea you will need 1/2 tsp of dried chamomile flowers, 1 clove, 1/2 tsp of licorice powder and a pinch of cinnamon powder. Add all these ingredients to a cup of water and boil it for some time. Strain the mixture and drink it slowly. Have at least two cups of this decoction every day.
