  1. Well most of the items listed I dont have at home. But the ones that I did worked spectacularly! I love the lemon and hot water bottle one and I took your advice to put ice on the bruise then the hot water bottle. Thank you very much for the help! 🙂

    • Sorry about that. I think it would look worse if we showed a woman with a black eye. Kids do get accidental black eyes. Adult black eyes tend to be more concerning.

      • I’m sorry, I really disagree with this. A photo of a child with a black eye linked to page telling people how to get rid of bruises fast is incredibly concerning and unsettling. Perhaps a child with a bruise on their arm or leg would make more sense as kids often fall when playing, but a black eye is intrinsically linked to injuries cause by another person – especially with the heartbreaking look in that child’s eye…

        • ZB, thankyou for your comment. I hear what you are saying but we will have to agree to disagree. I have had many black eyes as a child and all of them were accidental sporting injuries. Blackeyes on adults are nearly always caused by violence inflicted by third parties. I stick by my assertion that a black eye on a child is much less menacing in its implication than a blackeye on an adult. We could show a bruise on a knee or an arm, but if you are interested in getting rid of a bruise, chances are it’s on your face as this is always visible. I hope you understand that because we offer home remedies for bruises, we are by no means condoning the (perhaps malicious) actions that caused the bruise in the first place.

        • Get with it. Kids have black eyes all the time. Part of growing up. That’s why this new generation is so over sensitive to anything. Over protective parents hovering over their children constantly.

  2. Use a banana peel hold it on skin for as long as you can, checking back and forth and you will start seeing the bruise fade.

    • I agree with you completely….the inside of a banana peel works well when rubbed directly on bruises. However, this technique is more of a temporary fix (almost immediately has a fading effect) versus an actual remedy. Again, I am by no means disputing this remedy for bruises, just stating the fact that it is not the best treatment option, but can be very helpful as a quick fix.

    • I tried the banana peel. I used surgical tape (it doesn’t rip your skin off) and placed the peel over the bruise, taped it on, left it on as long as I could (am & pm). I was SHOCKED – it worked! The bruise on my face was gone in a couple of days. Will be depending on this method again. 🙂

  3. This is definitely very helpful just one question with the onion juice can i just cut the onion in have and rub it on my bruise?
