    • It is not the same, baking powder is only to be used in the cooking dishes.
      The baking soda is made on two proposes: One only can be use for cleaning proposes. Come in a bigger box and had refer to cleaning use clean, wash clothing and to eliminate odor,etc.
      The other baking soda is use for antacid and digestive proposes, even thous can be use for the cleaning proposes too.

  1. Why oral contraceptive? What has it got to do with fibroid? And I heard contraceptives makes one fat. Also is oral contraceptive a tablet or do i have to do it myself?

    • I prefer you to try out the home remedies that are mentioned in this blog. You will get a relief for sure. I can also suggest you to choose UFE or Uterine Fibroid Embolization to get a permanent remedy to fibroids.

      • UFE is VERY painful and is NOT a permanent remedy/cure!!! I speak from personal experience and as one who adopts a daily, very healthy lifestyle!

  2. You say avoid dairy and then you list milk as a way of healing. That’s completely false. Milk is full of sex hormones and stimulates the growth of fibroids. It is acidic in nature and creates mucus, cysts and tumors.

    You might want to correct that. Good article otherwise. But soybeans actually mimic estrogens, it causes an increase in fibroids as well as thyroid issues (goiters).

        Soy does contain hormones similar to estrogen but this hormone’s similarity is why soy intake and fibroids are negatively correlated. The hormone, phytoestrogen, binds to the estrogen receptor cells, preventing the estrogen from having any effect.

        For diary, in the study, published in the January 2010 issue of the American Journal of Epidemiology, researchers followed more than 22,000 premenopausal black women from the US Black Women’s Health Study over a 10-year period. Self-administered questionnaires on dietary intake were used to assess whether intake of dairy foods such as low-fat and whole milk, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream—and some dairy components such as calcium, vitamin D, and butyric acid—may reduce risk of uterine fibroids. The findings indicated a lower risk of uterine fibroids associated with higher dairy consumption.

        • I agree about the hormones in milk. I don’t think cow’s milk is a great resource. However, I think the real factor in helping with fibroids, especially as an African American woman is the vitamin D and calcium from the milk. But one doesn’t have to drink cow’s milk to receive those nutrients. I know for some women in my family that we are low in calcium and vitamin D. Vitamin D especially because we don’t soak up as much Vitamin D from the sun. Our melanin, though lovely, makes it more difficult to absorb the vitamin D. I am currently working to shrink my fibroids. And I want to do it naturally. I have been trying to cut back on the meat (because of the hormones), started exercising, and finding ways to reduce the inflammation (ginger, turmeric, etc). I have started the apple cider vinegar with water but I need to buy honey. To other people who are experiencing fibroids, you should attempt to cut back or significantly eliminate (tobacco, alcoholic beverages, caffeine, etc) as these substances create inflammation in the body. I would like to try castor oil packs next because I have heard great things about it.

  3. After eating only organic produce, grass fed meat, goat’s milk. goat’s cheese and sprouted breads/nuts, the fibroids which made me look 7 months pregnant, ALL SHRUNK! I was eating 80% organic and it didn’t make much of a difference. When I went 100%, in less than 6 weeks, my belly was almost totally flat! Then after 3 weeks, I decided to experiment and go back to eating 80% organic and not sprout my grains or nuts and the belly started to grow again. In 3 months, the fibroids had started to grow again and I looked 3 months pregnant. Since then, I am 100% organic plus avoid dairy that is from cows and sprout my grains/nuts. Never had any more problems with fibroids! Hallellujah! God is good.

  6. Clearing up the estrogen comment. Soy contains phytoestrogens or plant estrogens that hinder the body’s natural estrogen from attaching to cells. When phytoestrogens occupy the cell, normal estrogens cannot, but phytoestrogen is chemically similar to estrogens. Plus phytoestrogens mimic the activity of the hormone estrogen in your body. Your body’s estrogen may in fact decrease but you are putting another estrogen (plant) in your body when you eat soy and this is not a good thing. Therefore the soy recommendation is as suspect as the milk recommendation. All in all this list is not good.

  7. True dairy has a negative correlation with fibroids. But one cannot attribute the lack of Fibroids to milk consumption. Logical fallacy-correlation does not imply causation. African American women have a much higher incidence of Fibroids than white women. Because white women drink more milk it does not follow that milk consumption decreases the incidence of Fibroids! A number of factors such as genetics, food deserts, lack of produce consumption and availability of fresh green produce in African American areas, high stress and high blood pressure are all more likely to be contributing factors to Fibroids in African American women instead of the lack of drinking cows milk.

    A few points to make.

    We can not find ANY credited research linking milk consumption to increased fibroids. Everything we have found is no more than internet hearsay. If you know of any such research, please post it here as we welcome informed debate.

    ALL the research we have looked at shows the negative correlation between milk consumption and fibroids. Your point about correlation is not causation and that there may be other factors involved is always a valid point when dealing with ANY statistically based research.

    However, you then go on to imply that your fibroids went because you gave up milk. While I am very pleased that your fibroids have gone, this is not statistical evidence for anything.

    As regards to other mitigating factors, the initial study on african american women has been extended to try rule out other causes of the negative correlation. As the study was based on dietary questionnaires, it is relatively easy (statistically speaking) to control for other dietary factors such as lack of greens, lack of variety in diet etc. (BTW they also looked at soy and found no link between fibroids and soy intake)

    The mitigating factors that are not easy to adjust for as they require further information are factors like genetics, and physical health etc.

    However, the research has been extended to see whether genetics are the cause of a high prevalence of fibroids in African American women. In particular, genetics has been focussed on and the conclusion about fibroids and milk were the same, i.e. that there is a negative correlation and genetics plays NO part. I did more than just give up all dairy(milk, cheese, ice-cream) I also drank copious amounts of lemon water(the fresh squeezed juice of and entire organic lemon in a 12 oz glass of purified water). Unfortunately, lemon water is not on this list. Everything else remained the same. Here is research PROVING there is a genetic link, fibroid genes have been identified. The second link not only speaks about genetics, it also mentions “There is abundant evidence that estrogen promotes fibroid growth, including the clinical observations that fibroids grow in the presence of high levels of estrogen, such as during the reproductive years, or they regress in the presence of low levels of estrogen, such as following menopause or during gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist therapy (1).” Therefore it would be unwise to consume phytoestrogens such as unfermented soy, which mimic estrogen in the body.   10. for me, diet is the first important step to take while treating fibroid, avoid diary products, limit poultry products, eg chicken, turkey, eggs and if possible cut off on red meat at least for the first two months of starting treatment, you can later introduce these stuff at later part but gradually and less than regular (i stayed off them, i eat fish). Cut down or stop coffee, no smoking, reduce alcohol consumption – all these increase estrogen and they help fibroids grow
    Secondly, you need to detox your liver, milk thistle or dandelion is a good medication to help detox liver.
    eat food reach in iron, leafy green, spinach,.
    you can also juice the following on regular basis, lemon, ginger, beet root, carrot.
    Drink Plenty water (I add lemon and ACV – apple cider vinegar to my water)
    Drink green tea (Add ACV) instead of coffee, eat plenty onions and garlic like one or two cloves.
    exercise regularly to help maintain a good MBI and to reduce fat in the body.
    Take Omega 3 supplement and also use a wholefood supplements.
    Place hot towel on the lower tummy for few minutes and massage gently every night or every other night
    Make sure that you have enough sleep (your liver detox btw 1 and 3 am), get regular sleep to help your body recover.
