Wrinkles are the most evident signs of aging which are generally not welcomed open-heartedly. Wrinkles basically appear on the face, neck, back of hands, and top of forearms, due to changes in fibroblasts (1). The main reasons of wrinkles are aging, smoking, over exposure to sun, pollution (2, 3), poor diet (4), dehydration (5), drugs (6), genetics (7) and rapid weight loss (8). The process of skin aging can speed up with over exposure to UV rays. The major symptoms of wrinkles are – fragile and saggy skin, fine lines, crow feet, and deep furrows. Women try dermal fillers, anti-aging creams, Botox treatment, and many other chemical methods which are not effective in the long run and may cause a hole in the pocket. Home Remedies for Wrinkles

1. Pineapple

Pineapple is rich in vitamin C and helps rejuvenate and tone the skin, and remove the wrinkles. Besides that, Bromelain, which is an active ingredient found in pineapples, acts as a skin debriding agent and keeping the skin firm and wrinkle free. (10, 11)

Mash a slice of pineapple and apply the pulp on the skin. Leave it for ten minutes and then rinse with water.

  • Alternatively, you can apply pineapple juice with the help of a cotton ball.

2. Milk Powder Paste

Apply a paste made of honey (2 tbsp), milk powder (4 tbsp) and warm water (2tbsp) for about 10-15 minutes and then rinse well with water. Honey will bring back the lost glow of the skin and milk powder will tighten the skin.

Milk powder contains lactic acid, which is one of the natural alpha hydroxy acids (12) that are capable of shedding dead skin cells, and boost the growth of elastin and collagen (1314). Milk is also enriched with Retinol, and it’s topical usage on skin counteracts skin wrinkling. (15)

3. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has been used since ages to treat the skin problems well. Apply coconut oil on the skin regularly, to remove the wrinkles.

Tropical use of coconut oil can block approx 20% of harmful UV rays, which is the main cause behind skin aging. (17) It works wonders on under eye wrinkles and also removes puffiness. ()

4. Banana

Banana is another very effective way to treat wrinkles at home. Mash and apply banana on the skin for about half an hour and then wash it off with the help of water.

5. Cucumber

Cucumber is a very good cooling agent that soothes the skin and makes it soft. Place two cool cucumber slices on your eye for some time. Repeat the process 4-5 times a day, to remove under eye wrinkles.

6. Watermelon

Rub watermelon skin on your face for about 5-7 minutes every day. It will help rejuvenate the skin and restore the lost glow. Repeat the process for several days until the wrinkles are gone.

7. Honey

Honey works wonder for the skin. Mix honey and lemon juice in equal amount and apply it on the face for some time. Then wash it off. It will freshen up your skin, remove the tanning and tighten the skin.

8. Rice Face Pack

A thick paste made of rice flour, milk, and rosewater help you treat wrinkles. Apply the paste on the wet face for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with water.

9. Egg

Egg is a very good anti-wrinkle agent. Separate egg white from the egg and mix 2 tablespoons of glycerin and rose water to it. Apply this solution on the wrinkles and it’ll help you get rid of them easily.

  • Take one egg and add one tablespoon of honey and 4 drops each of sandalwood and fennel oil. Apply it on the face and neck for 18-20 minutes.

10. Apricot

Apricot is a very rich source of magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and calcium. Apply a paste of 2 crushed apricots, honey (2 tbsp), cold milk and lime juice (1 tbsp) for 10 minutes daily. This home remedy will make your skin tighter and radiant.

Note: Always put on moisturizer after applying this paste on the skin.

11. Ginger

Ginger is another good remedy which can aid you in getting rid of wrinkles easily. All you have to do is take crushed ginger and add honey to it. Consume it every morning. It will work as a defensive agent against wrinkles.

12. Strawberries

Take 3-4 strawberries, mash them and mix 1 tablespoon of honey in it. Application of this paste regularly will work well on the wrinkles.

13. Garlic

Garlic is a foolproof remedy for slowing down the process of aging and making the skin glossy. Consume 2-3 garlic cloves daily.

14. Metal Spoon

Take a metal spoon and keep it in the refrigerator for a while. Apply the chilled spoon under the eye every morning, to reduce the wrinkles.

Take some apple slices and one tablespoon of honey. Blend them together to make a thick paste. Apply it on the face and neck for about 20 minutes and finally, clean it with the help of water.

18. Lentil Mask

Lentil is another very good way of reducing the wrinkles. Take one cup tomato puree and add one cup of lentil powder to it. Apply this paste on the wrinkles.

19. Brown Sugar and Milk

This remedy makes your wrinkles less visible. Mix some brown sugar in the boiling milk and stir well. After the mixture cools down, apply it with the help of a cotton ball under the eye and other affected areas.

Take some cabbage juice and apply it on the face and neck. Allow it to dry. Wash it off with warm water afterwards, to cure wrinkles.

Take a tape and wrap it on the wrinkles, holding the skin tightly. Leave it overnight. This remedy may seem weird but helps a lot.

Make a paste of bell pepper, milk (1 tsp), honey (1 tsp) and oatmeal and apply it with the help of cotton. After 20 minutes, remove it with the help of lukewarm water or milk.
